Mammography with Tomosynthesis and Breast Ultrasound

THE Digital Mammography is a technique that enables two-dimensional visualization (two-dimensional images) of a three-dimensional organ. Tomosynthesis is a technological advancement in digital mammography and allows examination in three dimensions, avoiding the problems of superimposed structures.

Breast ultrasound uses high-frequency ultrasound to produce high-resolution images of the internal structures of the breast.

General, Soft Tissue, Joint and Doppler Ultrasounds

General Ultrasounds allow images to be obtained of the abdominal and pelvic organs, the male and female reproductive system, the kidney and thyroid, etc.

Ultrasound scans of soft parts (or soft tissues) and joints allow the evaluation of superficial tissues, such as subcutaneous fat, or osteoarticular structures, such as muscles, tendons or ligaments.

Ultrasound associated with pulsed and color Doppler allows the evaluation of blood flow in the vessels, arteries and veins of the organs and limbs (Arterial Doppler and Venous Doppler).

Ultrasound-guided Breast Biopsies

A breast biopsy is an examination that uses a needle to collect small tissue samples to be examined under a microscope. It is an extremely important examination that can be used to rule out or reach a definitive diagnosis in suspected cases of benign or malignant breast diseases.

The radiologist (radiology specialist) uses ultrasound to observe the path of the needle to the suspicious areas and collect samples to be sent to the laboratory.
